Music for Doppelgitarre

by Marisa Marinos

A floating guitar over a shoreline drew me towards the cover of Jim Andrews' Music for Doppelgitarre. It is my newest favorite album of relaxing and whimsical melodies. My only reservation about recommending this music is that you may not be able to find it in a typical chain music store, but it is worth the search.

I bought this from one of my favorite new age stores tucked away in downtown Westfield, NJ. At Success Express (arguably an illusive name) you can buy a variety of stress- relieving items that any law student would find helpful. Upon entering the store, you are somehow swept out of the regular disarray of texts and boring opinions of the law and into your favorite tranquil spa.

The scents and chimes welcome your entrance, along with the crystals and candles work together to create a state of beauty, peace, and calm. The music they sell, however, is usually the most interesting and rare of a find.

This latest instrumental music selection is perfect for this time of year. It is melodic and passionate, yet calming. It lets your mind wander, whether in mediation or getting over a fight with your significant other. It lets you breathe deeper after a hard day's work. I suggest this music because it will sweep you away from our gray education and finals crunch time.
